Our history

Boscow Nurseries started life as a small farm run by my grandfather Harry Gill in the 1920's. Pigs were kept and vegetables grown. During World War 2 the fields surrounding Boscow Farm were planted with vegetables to support the war effort, worked by my father Ralph Gill helped by the land army girls.
Boscow Farm gradually transformed into a nursery growing thousands of Privet for the newly built estates around Little Lever and turf for Bolton greyhound track. My father, brother and I then started to grow an array of perennial shrubs and annual plants. Lots of these were sold on our Bury Market stall which we decided to close in 2016 to focus on our nursery.
Now, my husband and I run the nursery alongside my daughter Hannah and nephew Matthew. We can't forget about our most faithful employee, Ginny our Black labrador! Ginny likes to feature on our weekly 'Wednesday Walks' which you can watch on our facebook page. If you're lucky she will even say hello to you in the nursery.
We are a true family fun business!
